Chicago Web Meetup

Aug 24, 2006

Chicago Web MeetupWhen I lived in Boston, the local web workers would get together every once in awhile to have a few drinks and talk about terribly exciting things like standards and applications. It was a great way to spend a few hours soaking in web nerdliness with like-minded people. I’d love to get something similar going in Chicago, as my wife’s eyes glaze over when I talk about CSS.

So, if you work on that newfangled interweb thing that’s all the rage these days, come on down to Elephant and Castle on Wednesday, October 18 at 7pm for the inaugural Chicago Web Meetup. Hang out with other designers and developers. Maybe talk to a few of them.

No formal agenda. No speaking program. Just drinks, socializing and maybe a giveaway or two.

Please leave a comment to let me know if you’ll be there; if there’s a whole lot of us, we’ll need a bigger venue. But more is good, so please spread the word!

  • Dan, I like the ambiguity. Those skills could get you elected one day. If your blog isn't online by the meetup, I will point and laugh when you walk in.

Andy, thanks for the referral to the Perl site! It would be great to have the event posted there.
  • Take a look at the Upcoming Events page and post your meetup there.
