How Many Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Can You Eat in 30 Minutes?

Jul 24, 2007

Krispy Kremem DoughnutsIt’s a burning question, one that has generated a lot of big talk around the office. However, only one of us has actually scaled this height.

The ground rules:

  • The doughnuts must be room temperature. Warm doughnuts go down too easy.
  • You cannot modify the doughnut in any way; no sticking 20 doughnuts in a blender and drinking the results.
  • You can drink anything you want.

Update: the work contest is on, and the smack talk continues. For everyone else – how many do you think you could pack away?

18 donuts and 20 sit ups. Ugh. I'm glad that's over.
  • One more than you.
  • What's your number?
  • Things I'm sincerely looking forward to:
    1. getting 2x my daily caloric intake in 30 minutes
    2. eating that many Krispy Kremes
    3. throwing up at the office
    4. watching the other contestants sweat as their body starts to reject the utter disgustingness that is being forced upon it
    5. beating Drew
  • OK. I'll be aiming for one more than you.

It's worth noting that the extra 30 minutes wouldn't really do you any good. Once those doughnuts start expanding in your stomach, it's over. (That tip's free. The next one's gonna cost you.)

That was for the full hour. I'm placing the average for the half hour at around a dozen or just under. I'll be targeting just over -- 12 to 16.
  • Bring it. Care to put down a number, Ken? I think you were quoting at least 2 dozen at one point...

  • Ken
    It's on. August 2, 5:30pm.

Good to see rule #2 has been laid down. As some can attest to, it is the most important of all rules... You need to be vigilant against those who may try to skirt that which is right and just...
