The Past Four Weeks

Sep 27, 2007

I readily admit that a proper blog should not go untended for a month. Fortunately I have a handful of excuses at the ready:

  1. We took in a second cat and the Resident Feline is not happy. Which means no one is sleeping fitfully.
  2. We drove to St. Louis to watch the niece celebrate her first birthday with a ceremonial cupcake to the face.
  3. I turned 30.
  4. I gave my notice at work.

Yes, I stuck my finger in the air and decided the winds were favorable for going out on my own. Self-employment as a web designer officially begins next Thursday, and things are off to a swimming start; I’m busy straight into December. While I’m excited to call the shots, I’ll miss working with the whip-smart crew at Duo. I’ll also miss the ping pong table.

Hmm.

I bet if I cleared the kitchen of furniture I could fit a ping pong table in there.

  • Thanks Todd! I'm sure I'll be around, especially if they keep serving buffalo chicken wraps in the UBS cafeteria on Thursdays.

    Mmm, buffalo chicken wrap...
  • Todd Prouty
It was sad today... I had to check something in IE 7 and told Greg we could go look at it on "Drew's computer". And yes, I made air quotes with my fingers.

It's sad to see those vacant spaces, but I'm happy for you -- and for Steph. And Adam. (Hoping the list ends there... for a while, anyway.) I'm sure you'll do well with whatever you take on. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
  • Jeff, you really do because I'm going to need a place to spend my afternoons.

Hopefully by the time I hit 40 my ping pong game will be so advanced that I can go pro.
  • Mom
Actually I think it was turning 30 that made you want to turn your life upside down. What are you going to do when you hit 40?
  • I just need to open up the ping pong bar that much sooner I guess...

Congrats again on all your recent accomplishments!
